SmartCane | Cane

An everyday cane with enhanced functionality, the SmartCane takes a usability and assembly focused design approach to convert an off-the-shelf cane into a personal walking companion. As the principal designer on this project, Ryan skillfully blended his in-depth knowledge of the medical industry, understanding of usability and ergonomics, and unique manufacturing techniques to create a smart cane that’s not only intuitive to use, but modestly stylish. The SmartCane features a handy flashlight at the top of the cane, an emergency light feature, and an ambient light near the base of the cane to light your way.
